Do you use your phone to deposit checks? Here are some tips to make sure you’re banking wisely.
- Make sure you endorse the check correctly. Your bank make require you to write “for mobile deposit only” on the back of the check along with your signature and bank account number
- Write VOID in large letters across the front and back of the check so you don’t deposit the check twice
What happens if you deposit a check twice? Double depositing is considered fraud. Your bank is going to take the money from your account. Your bank is going to charge fees. Your bank may take legal action against you.
