You will need to be able to use a computer and learn how to use special software. You will need to be able to type quickly and accurately. You will need to be able to do simple math using addition and subtraction.

A certificate prepares you for an entry-level job as a bookkeeping clerk. Bookkeeping clerks do a variety of things, including recording bank withdrawals, assisting with payroll, and preparing financial statements.
How long does it take to complete a certificate?
You can typically complete the certificate in two semesters.
What are the next steps in a pathway?
There are many related certificates that you can pursue. Some schools offer certificates in payroll, Microsoft Excel, tax preparation, and accounting. Your credits should transfer to an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
